About

Originally from south suburban Chicago area, moved to central Illinois in 2012. Electronics have always been a hobby of mine and it was just a matter of time before I'd make it to the ham radio world. I was originally KD9FEI but went for a vanity callsign that's a little easier to say and remember. The K9 because it's shorter than KD9 and NPX because it's the airport code for South Pole Station in Antarctica were I spent two summer seasons.

Current equipment:

  • Yaesu FT-70DR
  • Anytone AT-D868UV
  • Radioddity Baofeng RD-5R
  • Anyton AT-778UV
  • Sainsonic GT-890
  • Leixen VV-898
  • Radioddity GD-77
  • Baofeng UV-F8HP
  • Retevis RT2 w/GPS
  • 3 x Baofeng UV-5R

I now have 3 hotspots setup for DMR on the Brandmeister network. I'm loving the Anytone loaded with the complete DMR-MARC database.
